Councillor Philippa Scott is a lifelong Inner Westie, former refugee lawyer and board director of Metro Assist migrant resource centre, and member of the Community and Public Sector Union. She’s the President of the Sydney Secondary College Leichhardt Campus P&C, has served as your Deputy Mayor, and was a candidate for the electorate of Balmain in the 2023 NSW state election.

 

Her initiatives include free period products in Council venues, free childcare for refugees, and upgraded women’s facilities at Leichhardt Oval.

 

Councillor Tim Stephens is an internationally renowned professor of environmental law at the University of Sydney, who takes great pride in his contribution to the Council’s environmental and active transport policy. He’s a member of the National Tertiary Education Union, and a lifelong Haberfield resident with a deep appreciation for its unique heritage.

 

Tim makes an outstanding contribution to our Greenway and swimmable Parramatta River projects.

 

Emma Taksa-Grimshaw is an Assistant Principal at Birchgrove Public School. She’s a lifelong local and Leichhardt branch member who has been active on Labor campaigns at all levels for many years, and for the Voice Referendum campaign. She’s a proud member of the Teachers Federation.

 

The Labor Leichhardt (Gulgadya) Ward team represents local experience and a continued commitment to our community.
